Ind. officer accused of pointing an unloaded gun at wife

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana corrections officer is slapped with a protective order after an incident involving his wife.

Heath Ray is accused of pointing an unloaded gun at her during a fight.

He appeared in court Tuesday morning. Police say the fight happened two days before Christmas, and that the couple's four year-old-son was in the home.

As part of Indiana law, a protective order was entered into court, but Ray's attorney says the couple is working it out.

"Immediately upon this occurring Mr. Ray on his own and Mrs. Ray determined they needed help, skills to address problems in a more reasonable manner," said Ray's attorney Larry Wilder.

Ray is a corrections officer in Henryville. He was suspended during an investigation, but has since returned to work.
