LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Sellersburg, Ind. residents could see their water rates more than double. The Town Council President says the water system hasn't had any work done since the early 90's, and rates have been low.
A new proposal introduced at the council meeting could more than double the rates in town. It's seeking a bond to pay for $5 million worth of improvements such as drilling two new supply wells, a new 500,000-gallon water storage tank, and refurbishing two existing water tanks.
A date has not been set for a public hearing. After that hearing, the Town Council would still have to vote on it.
