LMPD asks for information on shooting outside nightclub

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they do not believe a shooting outside a local night club early Monday morning was a random act of violence.  Police are asking for help in finding more information about the shooting.

It happened about 3:30 Monday morning near the intersection of Taylor Boulevard and Arcade Avenue outside the Kingdom Nightclub.

LMPD Detective Douglas Brooks says anything people can report might be important:  "All we know is that two people were sitting in a car in a parking lot. Someone approached the vehicle from the rear and shot into the vehicle."

A woman in the car was taken to the hospital, and police say she suffered serious injuries, but is expected to recover.  This was the latest in a series of shootings at or near nightclubs in Louisville.
