LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are trying to figure out what caused a fatal crash near Appliance Park. It happened just before noon at the intersection of Fern Valley and Poplar Level Road.
Police say the driver of a Nissan Sentra was turning left and hit a white Jaguar. The Jaguar caught on fire, but the driver was uninjured.
The driver of the other car died at the scene. Investigators are trying to figure out if speed was a factor.
LMPD spokeswoman Carey Klain says, "Once the impact was made, the Nissan Sentra did travel a pretty good distance before it came to rest. So they'll look at, see if that's possibly a factor but there's no other significant signs this afternoon as far as what would have led to this."
The name of the driver has not been released, but police say he's in his 50s.
