Father and son appear in court to face murder charges

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A father and son appeared in court together on Friday, charged with murder.  Joshua Gouker and his son, Joshua Young, are set to stand trial together in April for the murder of Trey Zwicker.

The 14-year-old was found beaten to death behind Liberty High School in May of 2011.  Zwicker was Gouker's stepson, and Young's stepbrother.

Judge Barry Willett denied a motion to dismiss Josh Young's case.  Young's attorney wants their cases tried separately.

The judge will review the motion and make a decision next month.
