COURT: No evidence for Metro Corrections sex discrimination case

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A court has ruled that rumors and gossip are not enough to support a sex discrimination case at Metro Corrections.

The Kentucky Court of Appeals turned away an appeal by a captain at the jail.

Dawn Thompson sued the department in 2009, saying repeated untrue stories about a romantic relationship kept her from being promoted sooner, from lieutenant to captain.

The court said the gossip spread by co-workers may be offensive, but added that Thompson didn't provide any evidence to back up her claims.
