St. Matthews Police searching for sisters accused of theft

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Saint Matthews Police are looking for six women they say stole thousands of dollars out of people's purses.

They've already arrested one woman, LaShonda Jefferson, they say was part of the group.

The women are accused of stealing wallets and credit cards out of purses at several doctors offices and area hospitals.

Police say they've charged tens of thousands of dollars at businesses around the city since at least November.

Several tips led St. Matthews Police to Jefferson, but they are still searching for her five sisters and friend, Adrienne Talbott.

"They're wanted for multiple charges of fraudulent uses of a credit card and multiple burglaries of the hospitals in the area," said Det. Tony Ford, St. Matthews Police.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of the other women involved, call St. Matthews Police.
