INDIANAPOLIS (WDRB) -- Indiana first lady Karen Pence is expected to make a complete recovery after gall bladder surgery on Thursday. Gov. Mike Pence cancelled several appearances, including one in southern Indiana, to be with her.
Mrs. Pence is recovering at home and is expected to resume her regular activities sometime in the next week.
Gov. Pence said in a statement, "Karen and I are both grateful for the prayers and concern expressed by so many Hoosiers over the past 24 hours and for the professionalism of the medical personnel who diagnosed and performed her surgery. We are all fortunate to have such dedicated health care professionals serving the people of Indiana."
