LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Automobile production is up in Kentucky. The state surpassed one million vehicles last year for the first time since 2007, before the national economic downturn.
Kentucky ranked third in car production and fourth in light truck production last year. In fact, one in every ten light vehicles produced in the U.S. last year was made in Kentucky.
Ford has two production plants in Louisville, and GM makes Corvettes at a plant in Bowling Green. And a Toyota plant in Georgetown is the automaker's largest plant outside of Japan.
