LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky house speaker is disregarding Governor Beshear's request to stall redistricting. Greg Stumbo is moving forward with getting proposals on the divisive issue.
Stumbo sent a letter to House members, asking them to submit proposed boundaries by February 1st.
He says once he gets the proposals, lawmakers can decide whether to tackle redistricting during this year's General Assembly.
Governor Beshear has said delaying the issue would allow lawmakers to devote more time to pension reform and tax code reform.
