Freezing rain forecast for northern Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The National Weather Service is warning much of the northern half of Indiana can expect some freezing rain.

It has issued a freezing rain advisory for northwestern Indiana from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday eastern time and for north central Indiana from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The affected north central area includes the cities of Lafayette, Logansport, Kokomo and Marion. It says untreated surfaces may become icy and treacherous. After 7 p.m., temperatures should rise above freezing.

The freezing rain advisory for other parts of northern Indiana extends from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Monday. It includes the cities of Michigan City, South Bend, Logansport, Fort Wayne and Marion.
