LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville Metro Police officer got descriptive while arresting a Louisville man accused of public intoxication, noting that he looked like "Droopy Dog."
According to an arrest report, police were at the Thorntons on Dixie Highway, near Greenbelt Highway, at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, when 30-year-old John A. Clark "staggered inside and wandered aimlessly for a while."
Police say he took a Snickers bar from the candy aisle and stuck it in his right jacket pocket.
He then grabbed a bottle of Yoohoo and told the clerk he wanted to buy it, but when he dug around in his pockets and couldn't find any money, he placed it back on the shelf and allegedly walked out with the candy bar still in his pocket.
Police say he was under the influence of narcotics. He had slurred speech, was confused and -- according to police -- "very much resembled the cartoon character Droopy Dog."
Clark was arrested and charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance.
"The Snickers bar was rescued and returned to the clerk," police say.
