BURGIN, Ky. (AP) - Police in central Kentucky say a man apparently died from exposure after his car became stuck in mud along a road in Mercer County.
Officials declined to release the man's identity, but say he lived in Burgin a few miles from where he was found.
Deputies said a motorist driving along Mundys Landing Road saw the man lying on the side of the road. EMS took the man to a local hospital where he later died.
Deputies say the man was in his 80s and likely died from hypothermia.
Deputies later found the man's car. It appears the vehicle got stuck in the mud and he walked away looking for help.
