LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The University of Louisville basketball team will be without a couple of backcourt contributors tonight when Pittsburgh visits the KFC Yum! Center.
Starting small forward Wayne Blackshear sprained his right shoulder in practice on Sunday and is expected to be sidelined for a short time. U of L did not speculate in a release today.
And reserve guard Kevin Ware has been suspended indefinitely for an unspecified reason.
Blackshear, a sophomore, has started 19 of U of L's 20 games and is averaging 9.2 points and 3.9 rebounds. His 30 three-pointers are second-most on the team. Ware has been playing 16 minutes per game but got only three minutes in a 53-51 loss at Georgetown on Saturday.
The Cards will look to use reserve guard Tim Henderson, a junior out of Christian Academy High School in Louisville, more in a backup role on Monday night as they seek to end a three-game losing streak. Henderson played three minutes late in the first half at Georgetown, his first game action in two weeks.
