LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Five historic homes in the path of the Ohio River Bridges Project will be moved. A settlement agreement between a historic preservation group, River Fields, and transportation officials dedicates $1.7 million to preserving the homes.
Those homes sit where a new bridge will be built between Jeffersonville and Louisville.
Indiana transportation officials say moving the homes is a priority. Greg Sekula with Indiana Landmarks says the goal is to use the homes built between the late 1800s and 1930 as in-fill in vacant lots near or in the historic district.
