Georgetown, Ind. considering moratorium on pain management clinics

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Another southern Indiana town hopes it has found the solution to crush pill mills.   Council members in Georgetown called a special meeting for this afternoon.

They plan to consider a twelve month moratorium on pain management clinics.  The Floyd County Plan Commission passed the same measure last night.

It comes just weeks after Jeffersonville city leaders forced the Clark County Wellness Center to close.  Authorities say Doctor Lea Marlow was overprescribing oxycodone.

Some say the prescription pill problem crossed the river when Kentucky passed new laws regulating the industry last year.
