Pacific Quest wilderness therapy program is pleased to announce the dates for two Hiring Retreats in Marin County, California. These retreats will have a limited number of slots and aim at attracting highly skilled professionals in the wilderness therapy and experiential education industry.
Hilo, HI (PRWEB) January 30, 2013
Pacific Quest, an outdoor therapeutic program for struggling adolescents and young adults on the Big Island of Hawaii, has announced the dates for two Hiring Retreats in the Bay Area. The first retreat is scheduled for Thursday, February 21st at 10:30am and concludes on Sunday, February 24th at 1:00pm. The second retreat is scheduled for Thursday, February 27th at 10:30am and concludes on Sunday, March 3rd at 1:00pm.
Matt Armstrong, Pacific Quest Recruitment Manager and Amy Higgins, Staff Supervisor will host the retreats. The goal of the event is to move beyond basic phone interviews and create a more interactive interview process, offering prospective employees a hands-on experience of what life at Pacific Quest entails. The three-day event was created specifically for individuals interested in the Field Instructor position, and will allow applicants to experience various aspects of the program before relocating to Hawaii. Recruitment Manager, Matt Armstrong commented, “We just had an explosion of applicants and interviews this month for the Retreat. The first one is already full and I predict the second will be within two weeks!”
Topics to be discussed in the retreat will include the incorporation of Pacific Quest’s guiding principles integrating whole-person wellness, clinical sophistication, and horticultural therapy, within a rites-of-passage experience for troubled teens and young adults. Participants in the retreat will be asked to practice skills that are relevant to living and working in an outdoor therapy program. The activities in the retreat include participating in gardening lessons, practicing group management, and preparing meals using Pacific Quest’s many holistic recipes. Members of the seminar will have the opportunity to showcase their skill set and knowledge by responding to student scenario simulations and engaging in both personal reflection and experiential activities.
