LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A year after the Eggners Ferry Bridge collapse, technicians are reconnecting a fiber optic cable this weekend.
The work will be done Friday night.
The cable was severed when a ship struck the bridge over Kentucky Lake in January of last year.
The Internet and telephone services were temporarily restored by running a cable across the bottom of the lake.
A new cable has been strung across the bridge and workers will tie it into the main lines.
Officials say traffic shouldn't be affected.
