Indiana teens charged with blowing up mailboxes

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Four Indiana teens are charged with blowing up mailboxes.

Westfield Police say the 18-year-old boys were charged after an off-duty police chief noticed them at Walmart buying ingredients used to make explosives.

Last month, a series of small explosions destroyed mailboxes and put neighbors on edge.

Police say the explosives were 2-liter plastic soda bottles filled with a household cleaner and aluminum foil.

A juvenile has also been questioned in the case.
