LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- We're expected to learn more this week about the Carbide Industries fire and explosion that killed two workers. The U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board announced that it will present the findings from its investigation on Thursday.
It will also give some safety recommendations.
The March 21st, 2011, fire and explosion at the Carbide Industries plant in Rubbertown killed two workers and injured two others. Officials say it happened after an electric arc furnace over-pressured and emitted powdered debris and hot gases.
The meeting will be the Seelbach Hotel on Thursday evening at 6:30.
