LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office took a woman into custody Friday, two months after she was allegedly found unconscious with her six-week-old child nearby.
According to an arrest warrant, it happened on Dec. 6. Authorities say they were called to a location, on a report of a person not breathing.
When they arrived, they allegedly found 24-year-old Ashley Plunkett, who was "not responsive," according to police.
Nearby, police allegedly found a syringe with heroin residue inside it and several prescription pills. Also in the room, was Plunkett's six-week-old child, according to police.
Plunkett did not have custody of the child at the time, but the father was allowing her to visit.
She was eventually taken to University Hospital, police say, and she eventually regained consciousness. Child Protective Services was notified.
Plunkett was taken into custody on Friday and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, wanton endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to an arrest warrant.
