LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A theft suspect picked a fight with two St. Mathews Police officers in the food court of Mall St. Matthews Friday night, according to an arrest report.

Police say they were called to the mall after they received a report of a man fraudulently using a credit card at the Perfume Plus store in the mall.

By the time they arrived, mall security employees had located the suspect, 36-year-old Yoel L. Salabarria, in the food court. When police tried to question Salabarria, he allegedly tried to run. Officers say a scuffle broke out, and that escalated to a "full-blown fight."

Both officers received minor injuries before they were able to subdue Salabarria, according to the arrest report. Police say they found nine forged identities and credit cards on his person, and he stole $763 of merchandise from Victoria Secret and $314 from The Buckle.

He was arrested and charged with assault, criminal possession of a forged instrument and theft by deception.
