LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Shively Police say they've arrested a man who bragged about a robbery to the wrong person.

According to an arrest report, 44-year-old Brent L. Spooner recently got into a conversation with a co-worker about his girlfriend, who had appeared in court in connection with a robbery.

Police say Spooner, "went into great details about how he was involved" and admitted that, "he and another guy, Billy, beat this guy up really bad behind the Diamond Cabaret on 7th Street Road."

During this conversation, police say the co-worker realized that he is the man who had been robbed by Spooner during the incident years earlier, on July 28, 2010.

The victim contacted police and they questioned Spooner. Police say Spooner "admitted going to the Diamond Cabaret" with his girlfriend, "but said that he doesn't remember beating anyone up."

Police didn't agree. They arrested Spooner Tuesday morning and charged him with first degree robbery, according to an arrest report.
