Indiana-born astronaut talks to students from space

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Indiana native who's commanding the International Space Station says he looks forward to a visit back home.

Astronaut Kevin Ford spoke via video hookup to the Indiana Senate in the Statehouse today.

He's from the Blackford County, between Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.

A seventh-grader asked Ford what he looked forward to when he returned from space.

Everybody laughed after he said he missed not being able to take a shower for the past three months on the space station.
