The BMX Bluegrass Nationals get revved up in Freedom Hall

Posted: Updated:

Keith Kaiser rides with some amateur Bicycle Motocross riders before they compete in the BMX Bluegrass Nationals February 8th-10th.

Tommy Board, the points-leader last year in the Amateur Cruiser class, goes in to the final race of the year. His Grand national race didn't go as well as planned and he lost the National No.1 Cruiser title. Exciting USA/BMX racing competition will be on display for three days in novice, open and pro classes.

BMX Racing all came together in Southern California in the early 1970's. Kids were known to modified their 20" Schwinn Stingray bicycles race around vacant lots. They were trying to imitate their motorcycle racing idols and created a sport of their very own.
