LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Every student at one Louisville elementary school is home this weekend with a full backpack and a full belly, all thanks to a local program.
All 415 students at Wheatley Elementary were sent home with a bag of food for the whole family to enjoy.
A metro councilman and his wife recently visited the school and saw the need. The couple then reached out to Kentucky Harvest for help.
The goal is to continue providing weekend meals for at least the next several weeks.
