LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A medical assistant at a Louisville health center has been accused of calling in fraudulent medical prescriptions for her family and friends, according to court documents.

Police say 31-year-old Shawnitria M. Boyer worked for the Family Health Center on Taylor Blvd., near Bicknell Avenue. While there, police say she would call in fraudulent prescriptions to numerous Walgreens stores "for family and friends."

Boyer allegedly admitted to making the calls without authorization from any doctor.

In total, police say there were 18 instances in which she fraudulently phoned in prescriptions for Lortab or Hydrocodone.

Boyer was arrested Monday evening and faces drug charges.
