Kentucky bill would allow alcohol sales on Election Day

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Senate has passed a bill that would allow alcohol sales on Election Day.

The sale of alcohol at restaurants, bars, and stores on voting day has been illegal since the Prohibition era.  Kentucky and South Carolina are the last states that still have Election Day alcohol bans.

The bill now goes to the Kentucky House for consideration.
