Jury selection begins in case of man's body buried in basement

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The trial began Friday afternoon for one of two men charged with murdering a man, then burying the victim's body in the basement.

Two former lovers, Jeffrey Mundt and Joseph Banis, are charged with killing Jamie Carroll.  Police say they buried his body in a sealed plastic container in the basement of Mundt's Old Louisville home in 2010.

The two each blame other for Carroll's murder.

Their trials are being held separately, with Banis's case being tried first.  Jury selection is now underway.
