LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a Louisville father is in big trouble after he brought his 15-month-old daughter along for a heroin deal.
According to arrest reports, police were investigating complaints of drug activity near the Rite Aid at the corner of Dixie Hwy. and Rockford Lane Thursday night. During the course of their investigation, they say they covertly contacted 27-year-old Tony Booker, a suspected drug dealer, and ordered $150 worth of heroin.
A short time later, police say Booker arrived in a 2008 tan Saturn, driven by an alleged accomplice, 27-year-old Kevin Lee. Police say they immediately smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.
Officers recovered the heroin they say the men intended to sell, as well as an ounce of marijuana, according to the arrest reports.
They also say they found something else: police say Booker's 15-month-old daughter was in the back seat, lying face down without a child restraint.
Both men were arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a minor, according to police.
