LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana are distributing cookies by the millions.
With the help of several troop leaders, scouts and volunteers, around 64,000 cases are making their way out of a Louisville distribution center to the homes of many families across Kentucky, Indiana and beyond.
The cookies can be purchased from those who placed orders back in January or those seeking to buy new ones. Girl Scouts have gone high tech with today's generation. If you want to know where cookies are being sold, you can download the Cookie Locator App on your smart phone, or visit the website, twitter, or Facebook Page to get more information.
Brady DeLuca of Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana said there are options for those who might be dieting or watching sugar or calorie intake who could participate in the Gift of Caring Donation.
DeLuca said the council-wide Gift of Caring "Troop to Troops" (T2T) program was a huge success in its first year and the website says 13,293 boxes of cookies were sent to men and women serving our country last year. The T2T program was made possible by a partnership with Operation Troop Aid.
DeLuca said they do not have control over where the cookies are sent through Operation Troop Aid, so the best idea is to purchase cookies in your local area and send them to your soldier of choice if you have a specific person in mind.
