Police searching for pair after cookie money taken

Posted: Updated:

ERLANGER, Ky. (AP) -- Police in northern Kentucky say two people were caught on tape with their hands metaphorically in a cookie jar. Now police in northern Kentucky want to know who they are.

Erlanger police told The Kentucky Enquirer they are seeking a man and woman who they say stole money from the purse of a woman who had been selling Girl Scout cookies outside a Kroger.

Police say the man opened an unlocked car door and stole the money. As the man fled, he threw the purse at a Kroger employee who was chasing him.

Police say he'd already removed the money from the purse, however, and then drove off with a woman who had been acting as a lookout.

Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 859-727-2424.
