LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Prospect, Ky. man with three DUI convictions in his history was arrested again on Monday for driving under the influence, according to court documents.
Police say Bradley R. Scherzinger, age 29, was speeding 15 miles over the speed limit on Feb. 16, when a Prospect Police officer pulled him over. According to an arrest warrant, Scherzinger blew a .165 on a portable breathalyzer test, and the officer told him he was going to be arrested, placing him in handcuffs.
That's when, police say, Scherzinger took off running across U.S. 42 and into the woods, still handcuffed.
The officer ran after Scherzinger, but soon abandoned the chase because there was an intoxicated man still sitting in the passenger seat of the car Scherzinger had been driving. Police say that passenger was "so intoxicated" that a relative of the man had to pick him up.
Police impounded the car, according to the arrest warrant.
Police say Scherzinger already had three prior DUI convictions. He was eventually arrested on Monday night by members of the Oldham County Sheriff's Office and is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, escape and speeding, according to the warrant.
