Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A home in east Louisville was destroyed by fire Tuesday.

The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. at a home in the Ivybridge Circle subdivision, near White Blossom Blvd. and Springhurst Blvd.

Everyone made it out of the home safely.

At one point, the blaze was so intense that thick black smoke could be seen from the Gene Snyder Freeway.

Fire officials say the home is a total loss.

Fire officials say they do not know what sparked the blaze, but believe it started in the attic. The investigation is ongoing.
