LEGOS for LEUKEMIA was founded in 2009 by Christian Flanders in Denver Colorado as a way for Christian to honor the memory of his father, and as a way to give kids fighting cancer and other life threatening diseases a fun and creative way to deal with not so fun days that include chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants. Christian's story inspired me to help the kids at Kosair Children's Hospital, so I created LfL-KY (Louisville) in honor of my son, Aiden Lee Johnson.… Aiden is under going his second battle of ALL (High Risk) Leukemia, and while he is in the hospital, to pass the time, he builds lots of Legos. When we found this community service, it fit so perfect for us to give back and bring hope, laughter, joy and just plain fun to all the kids battling cancer just like Aiden.
Let me take a moment and explain more. Aiden loves Lego's, it is the tool he uses to pass his long days at the hospital or at home. When looking for a way to give back, this seemed appropriate for Aiden to be involved in. SO the premise is to collect New,Unopened Legos of any size for girls and boys of all ages. Then once a month deliver them to the patients on 7 West. Since Kentucky did not have a chapter......guess who is in charge of the Kentucky Chapter...Yep that is right....Aiden and his posse.
If you would like to help a child suffering from a life threatening disease and help me honor my son Aiden Lee. Please send a "New" Lego Set of any size or Walmart Gift-Card to: Aiden Johnson LFL, 7008 Cedar Knoll Dr, Sellersburg, IN 47172
