LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he was caught selling pirated movies and CDs.
According to an arrest report, a detective witnessed 31-year-old Jarian Laird selling the CDs at the corner of 18th Street and Madison Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
Police say that when they confronted Laird, they noticed that he smelled strongly of marijuana, and had marijuana in his mouth. When the officer demanded that he spit the marijuana out, he allegedly swallowed it, "preventing [the] detective from getting it," according to the arrest report.
Officers say they found over 75 pirated movies and CDs in trunk of Laird's car.
Laird was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana and other charges related to the counterfeit CDs, according to the arrest report.
