LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- There's more tragic news for the family of a well-known deejay gunned down earlier this week.
Family friends tell WDRB News Michael Chester's wife and 3-year-old daughter were involved in a car crash while on their way to Chester's wake yesterday.
Officials at Kosair Children's Hospital confirm the young girl is being treated there; she is said to be in good condition.
27-year-old Michael Chester was killed on Monday when police say 18-year-old Darrell Jackson shot him in his apartment. After searching for more than a day, police arrested Jackson and charged him with murder and tampering with physical evidence.
Jackson will need a half million dollars to get out of jail. He remained quiet as he faced a judge Thursday morning on charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence.
The judge called Jackson a danger and set his bond at $500,000 full cash.
