SOURCES: Child found with BB gun on JCPS school bus

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Metrosafe dispatchers tell WDRB News that a child was found with a BB gun on a JCPS school bus Thursday afternoon.

It happened near the corner of 36th St. and Grand Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. The incident involved bus no. 0326 from Ramsey Middle School.

A JCPS spokesman tells us the bus driver became aware that a student had a BB gun, or "toy" gun in his possession. The student gave the bus driver the gun without any incident. No one was hurt. No students were evacuated from the bus.

Louisville Metro Police responded to the scene and the child was taken into custody. Jefferson County Public Schools is now handling the situation.
