LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting.

Police say it happened around 8 a.m. on Feb. 21 at a home on 26th and Duncan. That's where 52-year-old Guy Allen White allegedly shot and killed his fiancee during an argument.

White was taken into custody around 3:40 a.m. Friday.

According to an arrest report, White told police he shot his fiancee after she fired a gun at him first.

White told police he buried the gun in an alley behind the home after the shooting. He also picked up all the shell casings and threw them out the window, police say.

According to the arrest report, White told police he dug up the gun and washed it in a sink before eventually calling police to report the shooting late Thursday afternoon.

Police say White -- who also goes by "Bud" or "Buddy" -- admitted that he is already a convicted felon.

White is charged with first degree murder, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

He's being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.

Two LMPD vehicles were involved in a crash with a civilian vehicle as officers were on their way to the crime scene. Three officers received minor injuries. No one in the civilian vehicle was injured.
