LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a Louisville man for stealing electricity and a daily newspaper from a local office building.
Officers were called to a private office building near the intersection of I-65 and Fern Valley Road at 11:30 Thursday morning, according to an arrest report. Police say 28-year-old Antwon Vanmeter was seen inside the building, despite the fact that he had previously been banned from the property.
According to the arrest report, Vanmeter and been stealing electricity to power his two cell phones, and had also taken The Courier-Journal, which had been delivered to the office and was still in the plastic bag it was delivered in.
Police say Vanmeter was "very defensive." They arrested him and charged him with third degree burglary, a felony.
