LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Despite opposition, New Albany officials are moving ahead with plans for a new aquatic center and sports complex.
The city council approved a plan that allows the city to issue a bond of up to $19.6 million to help pay for it.
Plans include an aquatic center at the former Camille Wright Pool complex, and a multi-use sports complex at the former Hoosier Panel property off Silver Street.
A citizens group that includes the New Albany Little League is planning to build its own baseball and softball complex, and has questions about why the city is building a separate facility.
New Albany's city council must approve the projects before construction begins.
