Three new businesses will open in downtown Louisville, bringing jobs and new food and drink options to the community.
Al J. Schneider Company opens Down One Bourbon Bar, 321deli and 2 Dips & a Shake ice cream shop at the corner of Third Street and Main Street, in the heart of the expanding Whiskey Row.
These new locally-owned businesses will employ about 30 people.
Down One Bourbon Bar opened Monday, February 25th.
It is a rustic, yet comfortable joint with more than 100 bourbons.
In addition to its world-class Bourbon collection, Down One Bourbon Bar features local craft beer, specialty cocktails and distinctive wines by the glass.
Opening March 11th, 321deli will offer the look and feel of a New York deli with the charm of the South.
The deli will offer sandwiches, salads and sides to go, and will provide food for Down One Bourbon Bar.
Options will include country ham from Kuttawa, Kentucky, triple crème cheese from Normandy, or smoked turkey from Tennessee.
Also opening on March 11th, 2 Dips & a Shake will offer ice cream from The Comfy Cow, a Louisville company that specializes in handcrafted ice cream and desserts.
Christian Hattemer is General Manager of these three new concepts.
Hattemer has more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry.
He moved to Louisville from Columbus, Ohio where he was Executive Chef at award-winning restaurant Milestone229.
