Court date delayed for doctor accused of sexually abusing patient

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The east Louisville doctor accused of sexually abusing a patient did not appear in court today as originally scheduled.  The arraignment for Doctor Ghias Arar has been delayed until mid-March.

Arar was charged with sexual abuse after a first-time patient says the doctor fondled her and touched himself during an exam Friday.  Tara Batrice says a hospital collected DNA evidence during an exam after the alleged incident.

Arar's attorneys claim Batrice was trying to get prescription pain medicine.

They say Arar was released from jail on bond Saturday and will continue seeing patients at East Louisville Neurology.
