Two fires under investigation in Spencer County

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Authorities in Spencer County, Ky. are looking into two fires that happened within the past several weeks.

The most recent fire was this past Sunday at 4:07 a.m. on Mt. Eden Road.  Firefighters found the vacant structure collapsing in on itself.  The fire caused damage that interrupted phone and 911 services.

Back on January 10, another fire was reported in a building on Van Buren Road in Mount Eden.  The building had been vacant for some time and didn't have electricity or utilities.

Kentucky State Police and the Mt. Eden Fire Dept. are asking that anyone with information about these fires call the Kentucky Arson Hotline at 1-800-27-ARSON.  The Kentucky State Arson Task Force is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the arsonist.  Callers may remain anonymous.
