On Friday, March 1st 7-11pm, Mommy's Best Games, a local video game developer is partnering with Market Street Barbers to host Shave and a Haircut, 8-Bit.
The public event features free-play games made by seven video game developers from Louisville, Lexington, Bloomington and Indianapolis.
Games will be of a variety of genres: party, shooting, puzzles, role playing, and fighting on various platforms like Xbox 360, PC, iPad, mobile, Sifeto Cubes and Ouya .
The professional stylists at Market Street Barbers will be available to provide a straight razor shave or a haircut while old-school gaming fun happens.
The event is in celebration of Mommy's Best Games' recent release, Serious Sam Double D XXL on Microsoft's Xbox 360 Live Arcade (XBLA).
XBLA is part of Microsoft's online marketplace for the Xbox 360 that focuses on smaller downloadable games from both major publishers and independent game developers.
Mommy's Best Games will be the first developer in both Indiana and Kentucky to release a game on XBLA, which is an achievement in its own right.
Don't be fooled by the name.
Mommy's Best Games does not make educational or Hello Kitty-esque games for tweens.
The company has won several international awards, such as Microsoft's Dream Build Play 2008 and 2010, 2010 Guinness World Records Gamer Edition, IndieDB.com Top 100 of 2011, and the O2L Stattmedia Game Contest (Germany) in 2012.
Come and let Maket Street Barbers do their thing, while you GET YOUR GAME ON!... and Shave!
