Police: body found in dumpster in south end

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are investigating after a body was found in a dumpster in the 4200 block of Allmond Avenue east of Southern Parkway.

The dumpster was behind the Greater Louisville Funeral Limousine Service.

At this time, police are releasing few details, but we do know that the body was a white male in his 20s or 30s. Police say they do suspect foul play, and that the body suffered trauma.

The body was discovered by an employee.

Police are also examining a vehicle in a nearby parking lot -- a blue Chevy Impala with Indiana tags -- which may have some connection to the crime.

Neighbors say this is not something you'd expect to happen in their area.

"This is the first thing I've ever heard that happened that shouldn't," said neighbor Rufus Ford.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LMPD crime tipline at 502-574-LMPD (574-5673). Callers can remain anonymous.
