Testimony continues in Banis trial

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Testimony continued for a fourth day Friday in the murder trial of Joseph Banis.

Banis and another man -- Jeffrey Mundt -- are accused of killing 37-year-old James Carroll during a fight.

Carroll's body was found in the basement of the couple's Old Louisville home in June of 2010. During his testimony, Banis said he and Mundt killed Carroll by shooting and stabbing him, then breaking his knees and stuffing his body into a container and covering it with lime before hiding it in the basement of their home in the 1400 block of south Fourth Street.

On Friday, forensic specialists testified that blood identified as belonging to Banis was found in the bedroom of the home.

Carroll's body was found when police were called to the house in June of 2010 after Banis and Mundt argued.

Banis and Mundt are being tried separately. It's not yet clear if Mundt will testify against Banis.
