Derby Festival pins unveiled; available to public Monday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Derby Festival is showing off its 2013 Festival Pins.

The pins were unveiled Friday, and they will be available starting Monday, March 4, at Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Louisville.

Other retail outlets will start selling the pins on March 18.

The pins sell for $5 and are available in five different colors and gets you into more than 30 Derby Festival events and concerts.

On Monday, the public is invited to help celebrate the first sales of the Pegasus Pins as the restaurant hosts a "Pegasus Pin Party" beginning at 5 p.m. on March 4, with live music and happy hour specials.

The first 200 guests will receive a special treat from Louisville-based Cellar Door Chocolates. In April, Hard Rock Cafe will also have a special commemorative pin for sale. That pin, in the shape of the Cafe's signature guitar, also features Derby Festival images and will retail for $12.
