Stephanie Decker Bill heads to senate

LOUISVILE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Henryville mother who lost her legs protecting her children from the March 2nd tornado, is making new strides.

Lawmakers in Frankfort applauded Stephanie Decker for her efforts in pushing for Kentuckians to have to option of high tech prosthetics available.

Decker posted a photo on her Facebook captioned, "We did it! It passed the House of Representatives!! Senate bound!"

She's referring to a Kentucky bill requiring insurance companies to pay for the most advanced prosthetics for people who lose limbs.

She's been telling lawmakers how she's able to walk thanks to a similar law in Indiana, which allowed her to afford her high-tech prosthetic legs.
