Early morning West Louisville fire turns fatal

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Fire crews were on the scene of an early morning fire Sunday.

MetroSafe says the fire was reported around 3 a.m.

The heavy fire broke out in a home on Cypress Street, near South 26th Street and Virginia Avenue, and quickly spread to the neighboring home.

Fire crews at the scene have confirmed that a victim was found in the bedroom of the first home that caught on fire after the blaze was put out.

Neighbors at the scene who escaped the blaze in their home say their concerned about the well being of en elderly woman who they believe could have been the victim found in the blaze aftermath.

Fire Crews have not confirmed if the victim found is the elderly woman.
